We take the trust you place in us very seriously and we are doing everything we can to make sure that 1000memories is as close to permanent as anything that has ever existed. We want to make sure that your photos, stories and memories will be here not just for your children, or your children’s children but for all future generations.

We have taken several extraordinary steps to ensure that your memories will never be lost:

• It is our policy to preserve your memories. On 1000memories, your account cannot expire, and we will never delete your photos, stories or memories (although you are free to do so yourself).
• We use the world's best data centers to protect and store your data. The data centers are audited and accredited to the standards that banks use to store and protect your data. We store multiple copies of all of the content on 1000memories - across multiple data centers in several different countries - to ensure that if something ever happened to one copy, we would have backups ready to go.
• We are an official partner of the Internet Archive, the non-profit dedicated to preserving digital history. They are the official digital archive of the Library of Congress as well as 8 other national institutions and 1000memories is their only commercial partner.
• We let you make unlimited copies of memory page content to store offline. We have an easy-to-use data export feature that lets you download your shoebox at a click of a button, then save copies wherever you’d like.

This is only the beginning. It is our mission to provide a safe place for your memories so that they can be passed down to future generations. This is as close to a permanent space for your memories that you’ll ever find. And it should be.
