Thank you, Brian Dubiel, for sharing these photos. Looks like the New ... Zealand trip was lots of fun. Glad he got to see the beauty in that part of the world.moreless
Someone can give the more extended version of an explanation here, but ... this is just one of many funny jokes around the office that Bill was a part of. The guy on the far left is Ari Feldman. One day Ari got a package at the office that transposed the letters in his first name and the "Air Feldman" meme was born.moreless
It wasn't a package, it was an email from a CS department ... administrator who shall remain nameless. Joe worked on this particular idea for many months, creating the design and taking orders for the shirts. Ari was in charge of getting the pizza for our weekly reading group. While he was out getting the pizza, we all changed into our "Air Feldman" shirts and surprised him. Here we see him in the "Air Feldman" pose, with a Mac Book Air in hand.moreless
Bill played a critical role here, creating the meme and helping us ... to find a custom t-shirt place that uses Hanes Beefy T's---this is Ari's t-shirt of choice, and Bill was always a perfectionist (unfortunately, the t-shirt place wrote "Air Feldman" on the outside of the package, almost causing it to be delivered to Ari and blowing the surprise).moreless
I did not know of this pizza enthusiasm of Bill's... I've told ... many people I'll open a pizza place when I retire, and I still seek out and try to make very good pizza from time to time.moreless
Trinity signed a contract with Pepsi several years ago to only sell ... Pepsi beverages on campus, so he had to go off campus to get Coke. But, actually, this was a private party hosted by Ralph Morelli. Sorry, Bill, the department was unaware of your preference.morelessDelete
Bill would have loved today in Princeton. Lots of fresh snow means ... one thing: snow candy, which according to him, was a "bowl of snow plus maple syrup". He obsessed about making this all last February because he hadn't made it before, and then finally did later that month. Just about 2 weeks ago he did it again, the evidence of which you see here. It's pretty clear that he had something of a sweet tooth!morelessDelete
He sent an IM with this picture the day after Christmas. Bill: ... i'm sure new jersey snow is clean, right? me: Well, except for a little acid rain or whatever it's probably fine if it's fresh fallen. Looks tasty. How much snow do you have? Bill: 2-3 inches so far coming down hard me: Aw, I'm jealous.morelessDelete
I just wanted to say how much I like this picture. I ... can't count the number of times Bill was giving me a ride, and I looked back and saw those logos.morelessDelete
Bill always played a dependable third base. He was also the manager ... of the Cache Hitters, the Princeton computer science softball team.morelessDelete
I took this photo. I remember that day, when we all went ... to lunch together. I like that he's smiling here; he never smiled enough. He had a beautiful smile.moreless
Oops, I think that posted wrong. The comment above is supposed to ... read, "My little sister, who first met Bill while coming to visit me at Trinity, learned people were sharing stories of Bill. Her comment (before coming to the site): 'honestly my best memory of Bill is him always ordering everyone WAY too much pizza. always on him.' "moreless

You were always part of the family, welcome for every holiday. I ... wish you took us up for more. To my mom, you were another son. (She has a thing for programmer sons, I guess...) Thanks for loving and accepting my family for all they were, and know they felt just as much love and respect for you.moreless
I'm so sorry. There is peace for you now. If Bill's story ... is similar to yours, reach out. Your wounds are lovable and can be healed. There can be peace in life, too.moreless
I didn't know Bill. I happened upon his story reading HuffPo. I ... can say that my heart aches for him and as a survivor, I understand the deep and inescapeable sadness. And the anger. And the pain. And the filth. And the hopeless that comes with the realization that you will never know the healing of real and true love from another. He is just bright, full of light, and brilliant. I am so sorry that he could not see what we see. RIP Bill...You are a magician!moreless
