Actually, I think this was the guy whose pant leg Mother and ... Lib climbed into and had their picture made and years later he came to Eagleville with his family and they once again climbed into a pant leg and had their picture made on Lib and Eddie's porch.morelessDelete
I believe that this is Mother's youngest aunt, Henri Murray Hughes, affectionately ... called "Pig" by family and friends. She had polio as a teenager and always walked with a crutch. This picture must have been made when she was a teenager. The necklace she is wearing is like one that my mother's mother wore. It had a ruby and a small freshwater pearl dangling from it. When I was eighteen, Mother gave me the necklace. Since it was her mother's, she treasured it.morelessDelete
This is such a pretty picture of her. My grandmother had a ... necklace just like this. It contained a ruby and had a small fresh water pearl dangling from the base of the ruby. Mother treasured this necklace of her Mother's.. Unfortunately, she gave it to me when I married at 18 and I lost it when we lived in Knoxville. I know that Mother must have been heartbroken when she found out I lost it, but she never made me feel bad about losing it.morelessDelete
I just want to add that Mother always had a deep understanding ... about what was important in life and she always valued people more than things.morelessDelete
